I can’t remember but I thought one of my psych profs. said blinking was a sign of lying. Yes or no? Experts only or have a documented answer please.
couldn’t that nervousness be caused because of lying?
What aboutJohn McShame lately allhe does is blink constantly. It is not like the celebrity hungry fool has never been in the public eye. He’s always lied, but not like this. I have never seen him blinking like this either, I’ve seen him millions of times but not blinking like this when he speaks. What are other signs/gestures of lying?

Blinking alone cannot indicate lying.
Blinking and pupil dilation can occur when someone is stressed but also when they are aroused or highly interested in something. If it is caused by stress it could be possible that the person is lying, especially if they are not usually stressed when talking to others.
If blinking and pupil dilation occurs with a cluster of other indicators then they might be lying. It is easier to know if someone is lying if you know them well because you will know their common and natural body language.
yes, say for example, they blink more when you have asked thema question, or really quick blinking, it can, because they are nervous.
edit,
yes but you cant always tell if someone is nervous, so they do strange things like blinking a lot.
No not at all. I am a natural blinker or batter and I always do it not only when I’m lying. Maybe when I lie I don’t do it! haha I’ll have to keep and eye on that! Pun

Sometimes you will find people staring at you in uncomfortable way while they’re giving you a lie. They’ll do the opposite. I know many of them and I believe this stage of lying is dangerous because it kills our conscience with time.
They lie with cold blood.
Blinking is mostly a sign of sense of guilt. Some people are filled with it even without lying; so be careful when you apply the rule.
p.s. My pc processor keeps blinking; I assume it is a big lier
Sign language is an important matter to be discussed and taught in school, to integrate our kids to the deaf/mute world.
As someone stated earlier, when a subject starts to blink and their pupils dilate that means they are experience a particular type of emotion – like stress, arousal or they could be highly interested in something or have a lot of stake in the subject at hand. The blinking could be a side effect of the stress brought on by a lie.
I think it may be sign of someone being nervous not exactly lying perhaps. I think it is worth noting if it is something that is regularly happening when you accuse someone of being untruthful.
