After researching Federal law it seems apparant that government officails can be made to submit to law detection test .
What steps do people have to take besides petitions ,what can a person do to make sure that government officials are not lying in a Federal Matter.
Thanks for your comments I have found that lie detection test are admissble in court and have been used as evidence even though lie detection test are not always acurate tehy are used by state and federal law enforcement agencies ,with a confession or evidence of a false testimony it can be used as evidence according to the law books I have .If the laws have changed please let me know and send me Federal Cases numbers if you happen to have ANY…

I don’t see that it matters; lie detectors aren’t reliable and I’m fairly certain they’re not admissible as evidence in court.
Elected officials are immune from the laws governing the rest of society and a polygraph is not admissible In court as proof of perjury. Only in the court of public opinion does it really matter. The only remedy to lying officials is at the ballot box.
I don’t think this refers to all govt. "officials", but in some very sensitive jobs you would have to sign an agreement that you will take a polygraph test if asked, or you don’t get the job. If you refuse the test later on, you are fired. Hope this helps. Have a nice day.
Probably not, since lie detector tests are not considered reliable.
Good Luck
Such decisions are made pursuant to internal investigations or investigations by an Inspector General’s office within the Dept. Requesting it as a citizen is unlikely to be successful. If one has evidence of malfeasance or misfeasance, communicating it to the agency would be the first step. The FBI is responsible for governmental corruption investigations, and they should provided information of a criminal nature.
Elected officials may be able to pressure an agency into investigating, and those officials may be swayed by petitions.
Polygraph exams may not be admissible in court, but they are a common investigative tool.
