How to request a lie detection test on a theft?

I stayed at Holiday Inn Express off Port St. Lucie West Blvd. in Port St. Lucie, FL and found that I have forgotten my lap top brief case along with a Blackberry, a Cartier watch, a passport, and all my important business documents. I filed report with the police and requested to have the security cameras viewed and the result indicated that I did have it when I check in and I did not carry it out when I leave the hotel. The front desk clerk also verified with the police that when I checked out I did not carry my brief case.

At this point, I’m careless about the watch, the phone, or the laptop; I just want my documents and passport back. Even if I filed report with the hotel to get reimbursements, they could easily argue that I put in my luggage and walked out with it. The cleaning staff continually denied of having taken anything. I also promise the hotel manager that if whoever took it just mail my important documents back and they will never have to hear from me again. I even went extra miles on how to instruct them to send me the documents where it can not be traced back to them.

My question is how can I request police officer/detective to perform a lie detection test on the staff. I’m willing to take a lie detection test myself just to prove that I did not make this up to get reimbursements. I make comfort living and have better thing to do with my time then go through these much of trouble to make a few bucks. I JUST want my life back.
