I have never heard anyone use that line of reasoning. I have no idea if you the questioner are using it, to justify homosexuality or not by saying it’s like lying, it just strikes me as not doing anyone any favours really.

no, God din’t create them to be liars, the original sin nature inherited from eve and adam makes them liars, it also is indeed responsible for people being homosexuals. Im not sure what you are talking about. What are homosexuals lieing about? There is biological AND psychological evidence that shows us homosexuality is a normal and natural occurance and that homosexuality is ok. There is psychological evidence that shows us it is mentally damaging to try to make homosexuals change their orientation.
Perhaps the Bible is the one lieing, and the people who wrote it are the ones who used their lies to get out of trouble. Perhaps those who refute the scientific evidence are the ones who are lieing to keep themselves From being responsible for the millions of gay people who have been hurt as a result of their beliefs.
Lieing is different from homosexuality because lieing hurts people. Being homosexual hurts no one unless you are the bigot who is afraid society might tell you its wrong to pass down your bigotted beliefs.

I don’t really know how this line of reasoning relates too homosexuality, but it does seem to be similar in that homosexuals are sexually immature due to trauma or some other unknown reasons.

Apples and oranges. All human beings fall along a continuum in terms of sexuality. One is no more right or wrong than the other. It is certainly not a sin to be attracted to another human being nor to fall in love.
We are all born with a natural desire to sin BUT not necessarily in the same way. Sins vary very much. Lieing and homosexuality are just 2 of very many. Once people realise that they are sinning they should try to change and cease sinning. This is done slowly by some because some are greatly tempted once they decide they want to stop sinning, but for others it can be a quicker process.
To be able to stop sinning one has to accept that their action IS sin. This is the real problem with homosexuality. No-one bats an eyelid when they hear someone tell a child that it is wrong to lie but, these days, it can actually be a criminal offense to tell someone that homosexuality is wrong. If we are not allowed to say that a wrong action is actually wrong what hope is there for that sinner to repent?

Why would God make something a sin which harms absolutely no one? Every single other sin I can name harms either the sinner or an innocent bystander, except homosexuality. Either God’s laws were flawed, or homosexuality was fulfilled by Jesus, along with the rest of the OT laws.
Morgainie4, say it were true that homosexuality is built within a person’s genes. It is no different than alcoholism when people say that a person’s gene’s give them the propensity to be alcoholic.
Does our society encourage those with the desire to be an alcoholic, to go ahead and give in to the desire… or do we encourage them to have self-control and to get help with AA.
In my mind, this is the same reasoning that should be placed on homosexuality. OK.. someone has this desire. It doesn’t mean that this lifestyle is productive, to say the least. It should not be encouraged.
Morganie, if you are born a lesbian, and desire to make love to women, you are lying to yourself that you can be happy being a straight woman. You can go on living a lie that you can be happy living with a man, but you will never be truly happy. You should accept what you are and stop lying to yourself that your sexuality is a behavior that can be changed. You can change your attitude about how you feel about yourself and learn to love yourself as you are- instead of living with an illusion of what you feel that your family expects you to be. You have a sad situation. I feel sorry for you.
I use the same line with people who are overly-aggressive that committ murder. Universally the dodge is that homosexuality is a personal choice that doesnt effect anyone else. So they use the criteria that if it harms someone else, then its wrong. If it doesnt seem to harm anyone else, its ok.
The only problem is that criteria is totally arbitrary. What makes harming someone worse than offending God with sexual immorality? I happen to think offending God is the worst thing you can do despite the reprucussions to a given person. Besides that, the sexual immorality offends me and teaches my kids, family, and friends a false and what I believe to be a harmful model of living. Therefore, it could be viewed as harmful as well.
