Once you know when someone’s lying to you, it can be fun with politicans and all that kind of stuff. But, it can be a huge problem in your personal life. You always see the truth and that hurts your feelings. Make no mistake, this isn’t just a joke. Once you know this stuff, you can’t turn it off…
VERY VERY true – I’ve been learning how to tell when people are lieing, micro-expressions etc.. Ive done hours of research into it and after consciously looking for it for a while, I now do it without noticing, its impossible to turn off

ok please remove the urban myth from your thoughts that avoiding eye contact means your lying. ive studied deception psychoanalysis for the past 2 years. avoiding eye contact means SHAME. liers directly look at you when they are lying to get their point across to make it seem that theey have confidence in what they are saying.
who has done it for 20 years? the guy in the video. i dont think so, he wouldn’t be able to tell if someone was lying, even if they said ‘im lying’. but if you want to learn microexpressions and deception detection, then read some of paul ekman’s books.

That’s what they say in episode one of Lie to me. They say that liars need to know if they’re being believed so they make eye contact more often, and that you break eye contact when you are recalling something.
Bugs me that people believe this to be a “super power”. It isn’t special. Think of it as a tool. It doesn’t come with a cape.
Yup! and according to the show looking away is also a sign that you are trying to remember something, so the opposite of lying, since you are recalling a memory
Lie to Me is an amazing show. Then again, it probably wouldn’t be nearly as fantastic as it is if it weren’t for Tim Roth – he’s the one that pulls the whole show together.

1. The biggest lie that I’ve ever told is once that I was playing with my mobile at class because of extreme boredom, and my damn teacher took it away from me. As I got home, my mom borrowed my phone to call someone (why didn’t she have her own cellphone with any cash just at that moment? I don’t fucking know ¬¬), so I told her that it was with no charge. Unfortunately she was called by my teacher, then, she came back with my cellphone, result: 1 month grounded due to being liar xDD

2. the most stupid lie that i’ve told in my whole life is when I shitted on my shorts ( i was like 5 years old), and as I was going to the bathroom my mom asked me why I was walking rare, i told her it’s a new way to walk xDD
