Should parents encourage their kids to lie?

Should parents encourage their kids to lie, cheat, and manipulate things in order to survive in this harsh world?

The lies will backfire to the parents, resulting in children lying to them but isn’t just a small price for the children’s better future?

I teach mine honesty is always best even if being honest causes you to get into trouble. But you just have to also teach them discretion so their honesty doesn’t hurt anyone emotionally, in the process.

If your honest you dont have to remember lie after lie, I teach the children you get what you work for.

I lie to my children about nothing and that does include Santa clause, the Easter bunny, tooth fairy ect. When they asked is it real i told them "dont ask me stuff like that unless you want the truth." Since I never pushed it, but i asked them not to tell others because they might believe .

uhm no. If anything, the parents should encourage their children to live a christian life and to better themselves and each other by being faithful, honest, and caring.

it’s a huge price to pay for something that will not better their children’s future. unless they go into politics.

How would teaching your child to lie, cheat and manipulate things better their future? Once people figure out how that child operates, the back will be turned – reputation ruined – future not so bright.

Responder # 1: You are right – this is stupid!!

Please tell me you are kidding!! Of course parents shouldn’t teach there kids that stuff. As parents we should not only want our kids to be better then us, but also be the best person that they can be, and lying, cheating and manipulating is not the way to do it.
