Where can I find a class on lie detection in the Boston area?

I’m looking for a class on lie detection for business/negotiation purposes. I don’t even know where to start looking, but I’d like to be able to become very proficient at it. What steps can I take to acquire a high level of lie detection skills.

I am afraid there are few classes on the topic other than seminar training. However you have to be careful on those as they are not all equal. Many commercial trainings are based on invalid premises. I teach a course – deception management’ by seminar and at the college I am a prof at.

Dr. Ekman’s office contacted me some months ago querying about it as even he is aware there are few colleges programs as such.

One serious problem you face besides the location of a program and its validity is that virtually none use multi approaches and research indicates that combining approaches can greatly enhance such abilities through cross (internal) verification. I can be reached through email or my websites if you want more info.
Finally, while you can learn some with many sorts of approaches (books, seminars, etc) it is a skill that must be trained and practiced. THis is not a McDOnald’s approach of reading one thing and being an expert.

If you are serious I can give some good tips.

Degree in Communications with a minor in Psychology or vice versa. I assume you are looking to do a sort of micro-facial expressions type of course. The two major folks who provide this training are Paul Eckman, retired, USanFran or Dr. Mike Frank at Buffalo. Ekman has written a number of books of teh "Lie to Me" genre that you might find useful and interesting.
