Here is my thing, In my life I have learned that many women will still date or see a guy whether he is in a relationship or not. So why do men still lie? Especially if the women ask and say that it does not matter one way or the other?

Same basic reasons women lie to their husbands and date married men.
Because unfortunatly men are a**holes and those women are stupid.
there could be more than one reason. they want to be with you too and her at the same time. if they tell you they have a girlfriend then they risl losing you. also as the first poster said-to get into your pants.
Men have a game plan and they know there are trifling women that will date them anyway but then they can’t get all they want out of you. For instance, if you dated someone like that would you be quick to let the borrow your car, give them a key to your apt….etc. Then sexually there are some things that you might not do ( and you know what i mean ) knowing he is raw dogging his woman.
Men lie because they’re born as a pig.
They crave for something they already have.
hi kiki… most men (i said MOST men) are polygamoss by nature.. they like to have lot and lots of girls as if they’re the kind or famous… and most (again i said most) just prefer to have sex with most girls… they lie bcuz the somehow feel insecure of themselves.. that as if they’re not men enough to have more girls in their life…
well i would have to say that men think its cool to say you have a girlfriend even if they dont,they also think its embarassing if u dont have 1,well im not ebarassed,hope u find out the truth
even if the woman says she doesnt care either way the guy will still lie because he wants to have his cake and eat it to… and he doesnt want to appear to be the cheater guy.
Men dont want you to have a chance to think about the fact that they have someone who they are betraying., If a guy tells you he has a woman, you might not want to deal with someone who obviously cheats.
They’re keeping their options open.
Men lie because they want you to think they are single, so they can get you to go out with them. Never trust a man like that because he will cheat on you also.
They lie because they think the women will not date them if they find out they are married. That’s why. If a man knew for sure that a girl would date a married man, he wouldn’t bother lying.

I think that it could be that lying would get them a result that would be different than the one they would receive if they told the truth. They don’t know if the woman will be okay with them having a relationship with someone or not prior to lying. So, they don’t risk it. They most likely just want to get in her pants. Or, they are looking, at that day and time, for someone before breaking up with the girlfriend or wife. There is not one easy answer for why someone does anything, especially on this level of thinking or feeling.
The thing to do is to protect yourself by getting to know someone over time. That way, if something is being covered up, you will notice things about their behavior that doesn’t add up or is suspicious. Most people can keep an act up for three or four months. So, give a relationship at least this much time before taking it to the next level. Don’t invest yourself too deeply with anyone until you feel you really know them and this takes time. Keep dating other people until one person has shown you that they deserve your trust and love. Love isn’t instant. It is hard to learn. Even love at first sight will take time to nurture and grow. If someone gives you the time to make this happen they deserve your trust.
because they are confused in nature n are fake in nature, a real man will tell his girlfriend the truth no matter how it hurts, just like my boyfriend, he tells me he has me n some other gal, its now left wit me to accept it d way i see it or back out! at least i dont need no nosy people come telling me dat i ve a cheater as a boyfriend! and worst still, we are all players!
Lying about having a girlfriend. Feeling foolish, inadequate, a looser, jealous of others that are happy. I don’t feel that way about you.
