My husband hosts a Monday Night poker game with his buddies every week. I usually give the boys time to themselves and go to visit a girlfriend of mine, or take the kids to a movie. Last night I come home early and over hear him telling his buddies that last weekend he, "plowed me for hours until I begged him to stop." Because we have 5 kids, Wednesday night is our sex night, we didn’t have sex last weekend and, in fact he spent it fixing our sink. Why do men lie about stuff like that?

Ask him, but do it in a safe non-threatening way. After 5 kids, and years of marriage, you know that communication is about the most important thing in a marriage, however men have been conditioned to hide emotions that are too soft and promote emotions that are strong.
It is a very "man" thing to be competitive with his buddies. One big arena for that is sexual prowess…perhaps it is primitive and animalistic, but it prevades pretty much all of life from peacocks to rams to men.
I don’t know if you heard all of the conversation, but I’m sure the comment was not unsolicited and his buddies claim similar performance with their wives/girlfriends.
Be proud that he thinks of you in that way. Really I mean it….he apparently loves you and desires you and wants to brag to his buddies about his beautiful and sexy wife and how she finds him attractive and good in bed. It’s like when he was a kid saying, "Look what I’ve got and you can’t have any…Nyah Nyah Nyah Nyah Nyah!"

Sad and pathetic as it sounds, or is, sex is just as cool to adult guys as it is to teenage guys. It’s just something guys brag about until they die. Actually, as they get older, they probably talk about it MORE since it gets harder and harder to do (kids, age etc). From the perspective of a guy, I JUST realized, we really are primitive.
They have to lie.
If they told the truth about their non-existent or boring
sex life with their wives they’d get down in the dumps.

Some Men lie about it because it is something that makes them feel proud in front of their buddies. It is kind of telling your female friend that you have bought a Gucci handbag for a $1000 while it is NOT an actual Gucci and is worth ONLY $20!
Guys usually lie about things like that because they love to feel in control and powerful. It takes their man hood away if they admit the truth about y’alls sex life. They want their friends to think that he is mostly in control and is "a man".
Actually, I don’t think the majority of men do lie but there is a sub-culture of guys who want their buddies to think they are prolific in the sack and so they manufacture stories of their prowess or embellish details of actual romantic interludes to impress them.
Guys who are secure in themselves and their masculinity don’t lie or embellish.
When my friends learned I was still a virgin they couldn’t stop laughing and making jokes about me. Yes I should have lied, definitely.

Just trying to look cool. It would particularly fit in if his poker buddies went to high school with him. Men often regress with older friends. He just wanted to look like a stud.

Probably same reason why women lie and say they aren’t having sex when they are, we lie and say we are when we aren’t. For images. Women lie to keep from looking like a slut. Men lie to look like a macho sex machine.
Actually sex is not secure with partner because of some time after it could be change during situation so always man lie with their friends.
They just want to show their man power in front of their buddies. By saying this, they become more confident for next time.

Hi friend, I think your husband is not confident about his sex and life. Being a father of 5 children he should not have lied about your sex. I am really angry on your husband’s part and I would say it is bullshit. Perhaps it is animalistic and really I advice him not to make fun out of you. I would say him sex is not the whole life, love and affection brings your whole life colorful. Thanks!
